the journey to a more comfortable bra
For decades, I struggled with my love/hate for underwire bras. I needed the support they gave, but they were just so uncomfortable. Like so many other women, I peeled my clothes off at the end of the day, just dying to get that bra off.
One day, curiosity got the best of me, and I took a bra apart.
No wonder they were so uncomfortable! Underwires are flat, rigid, unforgiving pieces of metal. No matter what shape a woman has, it’s not flat or rigid.
There had to be a better way.
Learning to sew at the age of seven is what triggered my love for creating. A pile of fabric could become a decorative pillow, curtains, or a handmade doll in a matter of hours. Through the years I found joy in tackling jobs and solving problems. When custom cushions on a boat needed recovering, a child needed a last minute Halloween costume, or someone needed canvas and isinglass panels for a sunroom with a way to attach them - I just figured it out.
No patterns or directions were necessary - in fact, the bigger the challenge, the happier I was.
recently reshaped women *love* the reshaper
"The Reshaper is just the best ever! I am so glad I found this product. I am so tired of hating my bras after one day of wear - or spending a fortune to look good but be wildly uncomfortable."

Flash forward to me standing in the kitchen with my 3 kids at the beginning of another hockey season... They all lined up as I dipped their mouth guards in hot water to customize them to the shape of their mouths.
I could hardly contain my excitement as the lightbulb went off and I realized this moldable plastic may be the answer!
If I could incorporate it into my bras, I could create a customized, comfortable fit.
I started creating molds and experimenting with different sizes and thicknesses. I had to be able to warm it enough to make it pliable and found my blow drier to be the perfect way to accomplish that. My sewing room looked like a bra factory as I converted every bra I owned until I created that one bra that I could wear all day and forget that I had it on. I even purchased hundreds of dollars worth of new bras.
(Imagine spending $65.00 on a bra, bringing it home, and taking a seam ripper to it - ugh! But I was determined to find a solution.)
I called these new underwire replacements “Reshapers” and put them in sports bras, strapless bras, and even bathing suit tops. Anything with an underwire can be adapted to a Reshaper. I had created the perfect underwire replacement that not only offers support but also a customized comfortable fit.
Sharing my invention with family and friends, I found that every woman I talked to had the same experiences. Women everywhere were putting up with discomfort to have the support they needed.
Everyone has a bra story.
I can say from experience, that it’s not a matter of size, it’s all about comfort and support. I eventually had my breast implants removed, and was thrilled to find out that my Reshaper was still the best fitting, most comfortable way for me to get the support I needed with my new and different shape.
Throughout the years I have accumulated a varied mix of interests. Recently retiring as an office manager in the Trial Court system, I am also a fiber artist, seamstress, hairdresser, personal trainer, runner and nutrition and longevity enthusiast. My greatest joy comes from being with my family and the people I love and care about. My favorite place is along the shore of Cape Cod Bay.
I believe with all my heart that we all have the ability to have a positive effect on the people and the world around us.
